about

Nick; 'This is a mellow acoustic instrumental version of a song I wrote in around 2002 as a tribute to my late friend 'Shads' who died in an accident in India. It seems particularly poignant listening to this track now, which features the wonderful drumming of the late Jake Renbourn, who died shortly after this track and is very greatly missed...'

lyrics

The Lyrics aren't sung on this version, but I have included them here if you are curious-

Back to eden now
The dream is over
and the water closing over your eyes
to find a better place
than this island
and I see you breathing light across the skies

Ch:
And we may miss you, we may miss you, but we'll find you in our hearts anew
We may miss you, we may miss you, but you'll visit in our dreams it's true

The waters rising now
around this island
and the ways to leave are slowly being submerged
but the sun is high
our dreams are strong now
and we know our love can never be denied

Ch:

I cry your name again
through the desert
and I'm slowly putting roses on your bed
you found a better place
I start to see now
and your music lives to tell us of our lives

Ch:
